At The Great Escape Company, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to explore, learn, and grow through outdoor adventures, regardless of their individual needs. That’s why we are committed to providing safe, inclusive, and enriching experiences tailored to the unique requirements of students from Special Educational Needs schools.

The Great Escape was an amazing adventure for our group of SEN learners. Coming from inner-city Birmingham, our learners were blown away by the forests, fields, and wildlife. The change from their usual city life to the great outdoors was incredible to see.
The Zip Line and helicopter signal fire task were unforgettable highlights. Many of our learners had never experienced anything like it before, and the excitement and joy on their faces were priceless.
Mark and his team were fantastic, helping our students tackle obstacle courses and team-building games with loads of enthusiasm. The learners showed so much resilience and really pushed themselves, which was great to see.
We saw so much growth in our learners during the trip. They became more confident, improved their problem-solving skills, and learned the importance of working together. The support from Mark and his team made all the difference.
We can’t thank them enough for creating such a special experience. The memories from The Great Escape will undoubtedly stick with our learners for a long time.

Why Choose Us?

1. Inclusive Activities
Our programmes are thoughtfully designed to be accessible for all. We adapt our activities to accommodate a wide range of physical, sensory, and learning needs, ensuring every student can participate and enjoy. From sensory-friendly options to activities paced to suit individual abilities, our focus is on creating fun and rewarding experiences for everyone.

2. Specialised Support
Our team is trained in supporting children with special educational needs. They understand how to foster an environment that is both safe and engaging. With tailored guidance and a compassionate approach, we ensure every student feels valued and included.

3. Tailored Programmes
No two groups are the same, which is why we offer bespoke programmes. Working closely with SEN schools, we adapt activities and schedules to meet the specific needs of your learners. Whether it’s a full day of activities or a shorter experience, we’ll design the perfect package for your group.

4. Accessibility Considerations
Due to the nature of our outdoor activities, our site may not be fully accessible for individuals with certain mobility challenges. However, we are committed to working closely with schools and carers to explore alternative solutions or adjustments wherever possible. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs, and we will do our best to accommodate your group.

5. Focus on Safety
Safety is our top priority. We conduct detailed risk assessments for all activities and provide additional support staff when needed. Our team works closely with school staff and carers to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for all participants.

6. Flexible accommodation
We are able to offer flexible accommodation to suit the needs of different groups. Our bunkhouse has two large dormitories upstairs and smaller, lockable rooms downstairs, ensuring a comfortable and practical stay for everyone. The cosy atmosphere and modern amenities provide the perfect setting for an enjoyable and relaxing trip.

For those looking for an outdoor experience, we also offer the option of bell tents on the lawn outside the bunkhouse or up on the activity field. This provides a great opportunity for students to enjoy a more immersive outdoor stay while still having access to the main facilities.

7. Dining
We believe eating outdoors is all part of the experience and have large picnic benches for meal times, allowing participants to enjoy their meals in the fresh air. Our activity room serves as an indoor dining space, should the weather be unfavourable in addition to the large kitchen in the Bunkhouse.

We are able to cater for a variety of dietary requirements, including halal, vegetarian, and other special dietary needs. Please let us know in advance, and we will ensure all meals are prepared accordingly.

Plan Your Visit

Collaboration with Schools and Parents
We believe that understanding the needs of your students is essential for a successful visit. That’s why we offer pre-visit consultations with school staff and parents to address any concerns and tailor the experience to your group. You’re also welcome to schedule a site visit beforehand to see our facilities and meet the team or see a camp in action.

Flexible Options
We understand that SEN groups often require flexibility. Our team is happy to adjust timings, group sizes, and activity schedules to suit your students’ needs.
